Ladies Walking and Wine Adventure, Marlborough Region, NZ 8-13 May 2017
Grab your passport, sense of adventure and get ready for a the next FLF trip in a beautiful part of New Zealand 8 – 13 May 17. You carry nothing but your camera, water, a few snacks, whilst your luggage is transported to our next lodge and will be waiting in your hotel room. After easy walking distances, we are welcomed to our lodge to enjoy a nice hot shower, some time to sit down for a glass of wine and a 2 course dinner by the open fire.
Passing through undisturbed beech, rimu, around coves and inlets and along the ridgelines, we have stunning views down into Queen Charlotte and Kenepuru Sounds. The sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous, particularly the afternoons lazing on the piers with a cold beverage watching the sun go down. A winter walk affords fewer encounters with other walkers, mountain bike riders and best of all no sand flies, making it feel like you have this paradise to yourself. We do a modified Queen Charlotte Track each day, but the distance will certainly make us feel that we have earned the gourmet meals and wine as we sit by the open fire. Yoga along the way not only ensures the muscles don’t get as tight, but time to really appreciate, absorb and reflect on the serene environment.
Marlborough’s climate allows good year-round walking conditions and is also known for producing some world class wines. After Queen Charlotte Track, we spend a day touring the Marlborough wineries and finish with a celebration dinner in Picton.
